These photos were taken five days after my eye surgery, just after the first follow through check-up. Atty. Gerald and Tito Henry accompanied me because Tita Jewel was in Cebu for a business trip. thank you Angels in Disguises.

After the check-up, I felt so down. My eyes were not healing as fast as preempted. I cannot function properly. I cannot apply the NC35 concealer my under-eye terribly needs. I was… I was frightened, I was sad, moreover, I was pale. Thank you life for bright, matte lipsticks.

And I look at my state now, on that area I feel so much better. When people ask how are my eyes, I answer them Getting Better Everyday and I feel that they are.

I want to post these photos to remind me that no matter how difficult it is one point in my life, things will always get better. My eyes eventually healed. I am a bit down right now… but I know just like my eyes, my heart will get better eventually.

I’ll get better. 

But because I know it’ll get better doesn’t erase the fact that on some distinct days, I was scared or hurt. These memories would remind me that something, someone mattered somehow, and it/he/she mattered enough that I was brought to the discomfort zone of fear, sadness and uncertainties.

That discomfort zone…and that sign at the backdoor saying, “Life goes on.”
