It’s funny when he starts talking about mundane things, such as lunch or his to do’s for the day, when he starts asking questions he knows the answer of. He does that to hide the more important things, they have been without each other for a few months and absence creates uncertainties.
She listens to him with a smile on her face. When he paused, she lets out a little laugh. She says, “You dont have to talk about those stuff.”
She knows that people have a tendency to make the things that matter less more apparent.
He lovingly touches her face. 
There it goes. The thing that matters the most.
